Peckham Giving Contributes $28K to Community
Each year during the holiday season, Peckham commits to contributing resources and funds to support underserved individuals and families. This season, Peckham staff and board raised more than $28,000 to contribute to families in need; not only team members working at Peckham but veteran, and other underserved individuals or organizations in the greater Lansing community.
GIVING :
- This Thanksgiving season, Peckham continued its longstanding tradition of providing traditional holiday meals to team members at every location. Peckham Catering prepared more than 1,500 meals, with staff and board volunteers serving them. Peckham staff also donated $75 gift cards to nearly 150 team members to go toward purchasing Thanksgiving meals for their families, providing holiday meals for more than 500 individuals. Peckham hosted the annual Holiday Party at its main Lansing location on Dec. 2, bringing in nearly 1,000 team members, staff, and their families to enjoy festive holiday traditions, games, food, family photos, and prizes.
- The Peckham Youth Services Blaffle (Blessing & Raffle) Fundraiser raised more than $15,000 for 26 families in crisis. This is the highest amount raised in the Blaffle’s history. The generous donations allow Peckham staff to purchase items that cover various family needs and will be delivered the week before Christmas.
- Peckham 3PL and Logistics division for the eighth consecutive year donated more than 4,500 pounds of food for families in need. This year, the food went to The City Rescue Mission and Advent House.
- The division also participates in Adopt-a-Family for families currently participating in the HUDVASH program, a program that helps veteran families struggling to maintain full-time housing. This year the “Operation Christmas” fundraiser raised $2,000 and will go toward purchasing gifts for 10 families.
