LANSING, MI- Peckham will distribute nearly 150,000 PPE items, including gowns, N95 masks, sanitizer, thermometers, gloves and more to nearly 30 Michigan based organizations serving people with disabilities and other barriers.
The effort is a collaboration between Peckham and Incompass Michigan, and will provide PPE for essential workers, working in community rehabilitation programs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Personal protective equipment (PPE) has been increasingly difficult to access as COVID-19 continues to spread, adding to the stress of many organizations with staff on the front lines of an already challenging situation,” said Todd Culver, CEO of Incompass Michigan.
“Peckham is a long-time member of the Association and their support for their peers shows the power of membership – the resilience and strength of our collective network looking out for each other to best serve our most vulnerable citizens,” he said.
Peckham’s connection with Oregon Medical Supply, a small business out of Portland specializing in sourcing PPE from China, enabled the unique opportunity. Once delivered, orders will be processed and packaged through Peckham’s Supply Chain operations and shipped to community rehabilitation organizations across the state.
“We are so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the community of organizations who are looking for ways to help those who are on the front lines,” said Caleb Adams, Peckham Chief Human Services Officer. “As essential workers ourselves, Peckham is proud to partner with Incompass to help support our sister organizations across the state who are in need.”
Incompass Michigan members provide a wide array of services and supports to over 230,000 individuals with disabilities and other barriers across the state.
This personal protective equipment will help ensure staff of member organizations and the individuals they serve, remain as safe as possible during the pandemic. Hundreds of direct care staff and individuals with disabilities will benefit.
