Peckham Farms focuses on providing paid job training opportunities in the food and farming industry for persons with disabilities and other barriers to employment.

We grow a diverse selection of fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers. Our operation consists of about 15 acres of field production, and about 50,000 sqft. of high tunnel (unheated greenhouse) production.
This diverse production allows us to provide valuable training and experience in all aspects of farming and food production to clients from all backgrounds and abilities.

Agriculture is incredibly diverse in the state of Michigan, and is vital to our state’s economy. This led our organization to start Peckham Farms in 2010, in order to connect the need for quality workers in the agriculture industry with one of the most underutilized and underserved groups in our state’s workforce; people with disabilities.

Our employees are given the opportunity to gain new skills and experience in all aspects of growing and producing food. This includes planting, maintenance, and harvesting of crops, set up of greenhouse systems, tool and machine operation and maintenance, and customer service. We also provide our employees with their own “garden plot,” so they can put their new skills to use and grow food for themselves and their families, free of charge.
Peckham Farms is supported by a horticultural endowment fund through the Peckham Community Partnership Foundation.

Retail Sales (for the canner, freezer, and those that pickle)

During each growing season we produce and market products that are often bought in bulk for the purposes of home canning, freezing, or pickling. This may include flats of strawberries and raspberries, bushels of canning tomatoes and pickling cucumbers, and more. We will use our online market place for customers to place and order for pickup at the farm, https://squareup.com/store/peckhamfarms. These products are subjected to availability and are first come first serve.

How We Grow

Peckham Farms has more than one acre of headed and passively heated greenhouses that extend our growing season.
Several of our use a gutter system, so we can capture the rain in large barrels that we use to irrigate our crops.

We use the greenhouses to grow a variety of produce including; raspberries, strawberries, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and flowers.
